Unauthenticated stored XSS via comment-link regex replacement
Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026
Stored XSS in dFactory Responsive Lightbox & Gallery before 2.6.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through approved comments. When comment lightboxing is enabled, flawed regex replacement of a malicious link emits attacker-controlled HTML attributes without safe escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator to approve the crafted comment and a visitor to view it, causing the injected script to run in that visitor’s browser.
