Authenticated data disclosure via overbroad read permission
Published Feb 5, 2026 · Updated Feb 5, 2026
Incorrect default permissions in Tanium Threat Response allow remote authenticated users to gain read-only access to data outside their authorization. The affected response-action access path grants the Threat Response Response Actions - Read permission access beyond its intended data scope; Tanium has not disclosed the faulty check or request locus. An authenticated Tanium account with that permission is required; affected releases are 4.5.0 through 4.5.265, 4.6.0 through 4.6.535, and 4.9.0 through 4.9.323.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.5.0 <4.5.266
