Log disclosure and tampering via unvalidated TLS certificates
Published Feb 5, 2026 · Updated Feb 5, 2026
Improper certificate validation in Tanium Appliance allows remote attackers to view or tamper with logs through TLS remote syslog. The remote-syslog TLS client does not properly validate the destination certificate, but Tanium has not disclosed the failed validation step. Exploitation requires an unauthenticated attacker to control the network path while TLS remote syslog is configured, enabling log viewing or tampering.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
