Authenticated denial of service via dynamic questions
Published Feb 9, 2026 · Updated Feb 9, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in Tanium Server allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via dynamic questions. Tanium has not published which server component processes dynamic questions, what resource it consumes without limits, or whether exhaustion causes a hang or crash. Access requires the Interact - Ask Dynamic Questions permission, and the documented consequence is limited to denial of service against the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.4.6.0 <7.4.6.1154
- Affected versionversion=7.5.6.0 <7.5.6.1164
