CVE-2025-15279

Code execution via unchecked BMP pixel copy

Published Dec 31, 2025 · Updated Dec 31, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in FontForge 20251009 allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing a user to open a crafted BMP file. The GUtils BMP pixel parser copies attacker-controlled pixel data into a heap buffer without validating its length. Exploitation requires user interaction and runs code with the privileges of the current user, exposing that user's data and session.
