Code execution via unchecked SGI scanline length
Published Dec 31, 2025 · Updated Dec 31, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in FontForge GUtils allows remote attackers to execute code by opening a crafted SGI file. The SGI scanline parser copies attacker-controlled data into a heap buffer without first validating its declared length, permitting an out-of-bounds write. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit a page that supplies it, and successful corruption runs code in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
