Stored XSS via unescaped icon URL
Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Ultimate Dashboard before 3.8.6 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through an icon URL. The Icon Widget URL setting accepts an attribute-breaking value and renders it in the dashboard without sanitization or output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and the stored script executes when a user hovers over the affected dashboard widget, including when unfiltered_html is disabled.
