CVE-2025-15247Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via unchecked download size

Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in gmg137 snap7-rs at commit 153d3e8c16decd7271e2a5b2e3da4d6f68589424 allows remote attackers to crash a consuming process. The S7Client::download FFI wrapper passes a caller-controlled size to TSnap7MicroClient::Download, where memcpy reads past the Rust slice because neither layer checks the requested byte count against its actual length. Reachability requires an application to pass attacker-influenced arguments into this library API; the public reproducer demonstrates an AddressSanitizer-detected crash, not code execution.
