Stored script execution via unescaped widget height
Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Ultimate Dashboard before 3.8.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through widget settings. The Fixed Height setting for a text dashboard widget accepts an attribute-breaking payload and is rendered without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and a user must hover over the affected widget; this exposes the viewer's WordPress session to script actions.
