Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized icon setting
Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored XSS in Ultimate Dashboard before 3.8.6 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to run scripts in users' browsers. The Admin Pages editor stores an unescaped payload supplied in the Select Icon field under Menu Attributes and renders it when the page is viewed. Exploitation requires an administrator-level account and a victim to view the saved page; it affects multisite or other deployments that disable unfiltered_html.
