IP-based control bypass via unverified forwarding header
Published Dec 28, 2025 · Updated Dec 28, 2025
Improper source validation in PbootCMS 3.2.0 through 3.2.12 allows remote attackers to bypass IP-based controls via a forged HTTP header. The get_user_ip function in core/function/handle.php accepts X-Forwarded-For before the connection address without verifying a trusted proxy. Directly exposed sites or proxies that preserve client-supplied forwarding headers permit lockout, allowlist, blacklist, logging, and database-rename controls to consume an attacker-chosen IP address.
