Alarm disablement via exposed PIN response
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
Information disclosure in Ksenia Security legacy lares firmware 1.6 allows remote authenticated users to obtain the alarm PIN. The authenticated basisInfo XML response returns the secret PIN as data instead of withholding it from clients after login. Access to that response exposes the code used for alarm deactivation and smart-home control; the researcher records that lares 4.0 is not affected.
