Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unvalidated action value
Published Feb 22, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in keesiemeijer's Custom Post Type Date Archives 2.7.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes. An unauthenticated action passes an attacker-controlled value to do_shortcode without validating which shortcode will run. The action requires no account or user interaction, and impact depends on the shortcode handlers available in the WordPress installation.
