Input quantity validation in Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC iQ-R process CPUs firmware 48 and earlier allows remote attackers to read or alter device data. The proprietary-protocol and SLMP processing paths accept a specially crafted packet containing a specific command without properly validating its stated quantity. No authentication or user interaction is required, and processing the packet also allows disclosure of part of the control program or interruption of controller service.
