CVE-2025-1502Network attack vector

Unauthenticated settings disclosure via unprotected AJAX backup

Published Mar 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Missing authorization in IP2Location Redirection 1.33.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to download plugin settings via AJAX. The backup handler accepts an unauthenticated POST action, queries WordPress options whose names begin with ip2location_redirection_, and returns their names and values without checking administrator capability or a nonce. Any network client that can reach the WordPress AJAX endpoint can retrieve the plugin configuration, but no ability to modify settings or disrupt service is reported.
