CAPTCHA bypass via embedded Google test keys

Published Dec 22, 2025 · Updated Dec 22, 2025

Authentication bypass in CouchCMS 2.0 through 2.4 allows remote attackers to submit reCAPTCHA-protected forms without a valid challenge. The shipped couch/config.example.php embeds Google's public reCAPTCHA test key pair, and recaptcha.php accepts the resulting success response for any supplied token. Exposure requires a deployment copied from the example configuration with reCAPTCHA enabled; affected forms then permit automated spam, registration, or login attempts.
