Authenticated policy bypass via mismatched namespace validation
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Temporal Technologies' Temporal 1.24.0 through 1.29.1 allows remote authenticated users to bypass namespace policies. ExecuteMultiOperation validates the embedded StartWorkflowExecutionRequest.Namespace instead of the authorized outer request namespace, so crafted input selects another namespace's limits and feature gates. The gate is frontend.enableExecuteMultiOperation; workflows remain in the authorized outer namespace, but their validation and policy context can be altered.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=1.24.0 <=1.27.3
- Affected versionversion=1.24.0 <=1.28.1
- Affected versionversion=1.24.0 <=1.29.1

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
