Stored XSS via unescaped icon field output
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Advanced Custom Fields: Font Awesome Field 5.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in browsers. The version 6 and 7 field formatters build icon HTML and object outputs from stored icon JSON without consistently escaping class, Unicode, SVG path, and HTML values. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, which executes when a victim views affected content.
