CVE-2025-14953Public exploitNetwork attack vector

UPF crash via missing FAR-ID validation

Published Dec 19, 2025 · Updated Dec 19, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in Open5GS 2.7.0 through 2.7.5 allows attackers to crash the UPF via crafted PFCP and GTP-U traffic. The ogs_pfcp_handle_create_pdr function accepts a CreatePDR without the mandatory FAR-ID, leaving pdr->far NULL for later dereference in the GTP-U fast path. Reachability requires PFCP session setup plus matching GTP-U traffic; the resulting assertion aborts the UPF process and interrupts user-plane service.
