Unauthenticated SMS setting changes via unchecked AJAX
Published Jan 10, 2026 · Updated Jan 10, 2026
Missing authorization in miniOrange’s WooCommerce plugin 4.3.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter SMS notification settings. The enable_wc_sms_notification AJAX handler accepts unauthenticated requests without checking a WordPress capability before it writes the WooCommerce order-notification setting. Internet reachability to WordPress AJAX is sufficient, and exploitation enables or disables order SMS notifications without granting broader administrative access.
