CVE-2025-14934

Code execution via unchecked variable-name copy

Published Dec 23, 2025 · Updated Dec 23, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Unidata NetCDF-C allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a malicious netCDF file. Variable-name parsing copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating its length. Exploitation requires a target user to open the file or visit malicious content, and successful code runs in that user's context.
