Unauthenticated code execution via unvalidated pickle deserialization
Published Dec 23, 2025 · Updated Dec 23, 2025
Deserialization in Hugging Face smolagents 1.22.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through RemotePythonExecutor responses. RemotePythonExecutor parses attacker-controlled pickle data without validation, invoking Python object reconstruction in the service process. No authentication is required when an exposed application passes a malicious remote-executor result to the vulnerable parser, and code runs as the service account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
