Code execution via unvalidated checkpoint string
Published Dec 23, 2025 · Updated Dec 23, 2025
Code injection in Hugging Face Transformers 4.57.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious SEW-D checkpoint. The SEW-D convert_config function fails to validate a checkpoint-supplied string before using it to execute Python code. Exploitation requires the target to convert the crafted checkpoint, after which the injected code runs with the current user's privileges.
