Code execution via unvalidated checkpoint configuration
Published Dec 23, 2025 · Updated Dec 23, 2025
Code injection in Hugging Face Transformers 4.57.0 allows remote attackers to execute code when a malicious SEW checkpoint is converted. The SEW conversion script's convert_config function uses an unvalidated checkpoint-supplied string as executable Python code. Execution requires a user to invoke the conversion workflow on the crafted checkpoint, and the injected code runs with that user's privileges.
