Administrator code execution via path-traversing ZIP upload
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Path traversal in IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 26.0.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The REST connector's ZIP upload processing accepts path-traversing entries and writes extracted files outside the intended destination. A privileged administrator must reach an enabled restConnector-1.0 or restConnector-2.0 endpoint and complete the upload, which can overwrite server files and execute code.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
