CVE-2025-14911Network attack vector

Application crash via unchecked GridFS chunkSize

Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026

Integer overflow in MongoDB C Driver before 2.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to crash applications through malformed GridFS metadata. GridFS download opening trusts a nonpositive chunkSize from the fs.files document, allowing downstream size calculations and heap allocation to overflow the bounding container. The attack requires low-privileged network access to store malformed metadata and an application that opens the affected GridFS file.
