Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked stack copy
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda WH450 1.0.0.18 allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the router via an HTTP request. The /goform/onSSIDChange handler passes the ssid_index value from websGetVar() to strcpy() into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length. Exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction; an oversized value can overwrite stack memory, enabling code execution or a service crash.
