Subscriber-level API key disclosure via unchecked AJAX action
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Missing authorization in Virusdie | One-click website security 1.1.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to retrieve its API key. The vd_get_apikey function, registered as the wp_ajax_virusdie_apikey AJAX action, returns the stored key without checking the caller's capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; the exposed credential belongs to the site owner's Virusdie account, and no integrity or availability impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
