Browser-tab crash via stale PresShell dereference
Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025
Use-after-free in Firefox before 146.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash a browser tab through a crafted web page. Destruction of a focused embed element lets FocusManager create a new DocAccessible with a dying PresShell, which NotificationController later dereferences. Accessibility must be active and the page must receive a click or keyboard focus; the demonstrated consequence is a tab crash.
