Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Yuri Baranov YaMaps for WordPress Plugin 0.6.40 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The yamap shortcode handler in includes/shortcodes.php processes user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization or output escaping before placing them in page output. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in the browser of any user who opens the injected page.
