Unauthenticated heap-memory disclosure via zlib length mismatch

Published Dec 19, 2025 · Updated Dec 19, 2025

Information disclosure in MongoDB Server allows remote attackers to read uninitialized heap memory before authentication via a compressed request. The zlib decompressor reports the allocated output-buffer length instead of the actual decompressed length, so message handling treats unwritten heap bytes as valid response data. Exploitation requires zlib protocol compression to be enabled and yields memory disclosure only, without reported data modification or service interruption.
