Unauthenticated file upload via incomplete extension blocking
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Unsafe file upload in Drag and Drop Multiple File Upload for Contact Form 7 1.3.9.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to store .phar or .svg files. In blacklist mode with wildcard file types, the upload validation omits .phar and .svg from its blocked-extension set and writes them to the temporary uploads directory. Direct access yields server-side code execution only when .phar is mapped to PHP; viewing an uploaded .svg can run stored JavaScript in a user's browser.
