Authenticated file deletion via mismatched REST identifiers
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Authorization bypass in ThimPress LearnPress 4.3.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete other teachers' lesson files. The material DELETE handler selects the target from the URL file_id, while its permission callback authorizes the unrelated body item_id. Teacher-level access can therefore authorize a request with an owned item_id while directing deletion at another teacher's material.
