Phishing redirection via unvalidated password-reset destination
Published Dec 31, 2025 · Updated Dec 31, 2025
Unvalidated redirect in Easy Digital Downloads 3.6.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to send password-reset emails linking to malicious sites. The password-reset handler uses the attacker-supplied edd_redirect value as the reset-link destination without restricting it to the WordPress site. The recipient must act on the email and follow the crafted link; the documented consequence is redirection to an attacker-chosen site.
