Server crash via unbounded integration fields
Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025
Resource exhaustion in GitLab CE/EE allows remote attackers to crash or make the service unresponsive through Mattermost integration APIs. The Mattermost Slash Commands trigger endpoint accepts unbounded user_name, team_domain, and chat_name values and allocates memory for oversized request data. No GitLab account is required, but Mattermost Slash Commands must be enabled and the request must carry its integration token; memory exhaustion can crash the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=18.1 <18.1.4
- Affected versionversion=18.2 <18.2.2
