CVE-2025-14744Network attack vector

File-type spoofing via unneutralized Unicode RTLO

Published Dec 18, 2025 · Updated Dec 18, 2025

Filename spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 144.0 allows remote attackers to disguise a downloaded file's type via Unicode RTLO. The downloads UI renders attacker-supplied filenames containing U+202E without neutralizing the bidirectional override, so visible characters can reverse and misrepresent the extension. A user must visit a malicious website and act on the misleading download; the bounded result is saving a file whose actual type differs from the displayed name.
