CVE-2025-1471

Memory corruption via fixed-size atoe format buffer

Published Feb 21, 2025 · Updated Feb 25, 2025

Buffer overflow in Eclipse OMR 0.2.0 through 0.4.0 allows local users to corrupt memory through oversized z/OS atoe print input. The atoe_fprintf, atoe_printf, and atoe_vfprintf functions format data into a fixed 6,144-byte conversion buffer without first measuring the required output. The path exists only in z/OS ASCII-to-EBCDIC conversion code; oversized format strings and arguments can crash or alter the consuming runtime.
