Arbitrary file overwrite via imported filename traversal
Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025
Path traversal in Smartschool App 10.4.0 through 10.4.4 allows local users to overwrite internal app files through a crafted import. SplashActivity trusts an ACTION_SEND content provider's display name and writes its supplied content without neutralizing parent-directory segments. A malicious Android app must invoke the activity; overwriting configuration or other internal files can alter behavior or prevent the app from launching.
