Authenticated command execution via unchecked action function
Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025
Code injection in HaloBot at commit 026b01d4a896d93eaaf9d5163a287dc9f267515b allows remote authenticated users to execute server commands. The renderWorker function passes a caller-supplied action function directly to a Puppeteer page, where it can import Node.js modules and invoke child_process. Exploitation requires a plugin able to call the inter-plugin render method, and commands run with the HaloBot process privileges.
