Authenticated code execution via unbounded sscanf fields
Published Dec 14, 2025 · Updated Dec 14, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC20 16.03.08.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a crafted list parameter. The set_pptpuser_list path passes that value to getEachListFromWeb, whose widthless sscanf fields write into a smaller stack buffer. A valid management session is required; demonstrated exploitation crashes httpd, while published analysis also supports command execution.
