Out-of-bounds read in DCMTK 3.6.0 through 3.6.9 allows remote authenticated users to crash DICOM-processing applications. DcmByteString::newValueField leaves an odd-length text value without a second null byte, so getString returns a buffer that C string functions read past its end. A crafted illegal odd-length DICOM attribute must be read from a file or network connection and then accessed as a string, causing a segmentation fault rather than a demonstrated code-execution path.
