Local code execution via System Console search hijacking
Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026
Search-path hijacking in Altera Quartus Prime Pro 17.0 through 25.1.1 allows local users to execute code through System Console. Altera identifies the affected locus only as the Windows System Console modules and does not disclose the executable, library, or path element searched out of order. Low-privileged local access, high attack complexity, and active user interaction are required; successful hijacking runs attacker-controlled code in the affected process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
