Subscriber-level arbitrary ticket replies via unchecked topic ID
Published Dec 13, 2025 · Updated Dec 13, 2025
Missing authorization in HAPPY – Helpdesk Support Ticket System 1.0.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to reply to arbitrary tickets. The submit_form_reply AJAX handler accepts a caller-controlled happy_topic_id and inserts the reply without checking ticket ownership, assignment, or an authorization capability. Any Subscriber-level account can therefore add content to another user’s support thread, altering ticket data without gaining broader administrative control.
