Post-removal commits via stale collaboration authorization
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Incorrect authorization in affected GitLab CE/EE releases allows remote authenticated users to commit after project removal. The merge request collaboration path continues honoring write access after removal of the Developer membership that originally satisfied authorization. Exploitation requires prior Developer access, later membership removal, and enabled merge request collaboration; successful use writes attacker-chosen project changes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.6 <19.0.5
- Affected versionversion=19.1 <19.1.3
