CVE-2025-14503Network attack vector

Authenticated privilege escalation via root-principal trust

Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025

Incorrect privilege assignment in Harmonix on AWS 0.3.0 through 0.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to gain administrative privileges. The EKS environment provisioning-role construct adds sts:AssumeRole for AccountRootPrincipal to its trust policy, authorizing the account root principal rather than only intended principals. An IAM principal in the same AWS account must already hold sts:AssumeRole permission for that provisioning role; successful assumption grants the role's administrative privileges.
