Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized retry parameter
Published Feb 19, 2025 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Command injection in Synway SMG Gateway Management Software 20250204 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary system commands. The /en/9-12ping.php handler interpolates the POST retry value into a sed command and passes the resulting string to PHP system() without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No authentication is required, and successful requests run with the web process's device privileges, enabling configuration disclosure, modification, or service interruption.
