Forged comment submission via inverted nonce validation
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in AMP for WP 1.1.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to submit comments through a logged-in user's session. The amp_theme_ajaxcomments AJAX handler inverts its nonce check, rejecting valid nonces while accepting missing or invalid values. Exploitation requires template mode and a logged-in user to follow a forged link or otherwise submit the attacker's request.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
