Contributor-level rating tampering via missing capability check
Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025
Missing authorization in WPChill Strong Testimonials 3.2.18 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter testimonial ratings. The edit_rating function updates or deletes rating metadata after nonce validation without checking whether the current user can edit the targeted testimonial. Contributor access and a valid nonce from the attacker's own edit screen are sufficient to alter ratings on testimonials owned by other users.
