Subscriber-level settings modification via unchecked AJAX actions
Published Dec 12, 2025 · Updated Dec 12, 2025
Missing authorization in Simple Theme Changer 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify plugin settings through AJAX. The user_theme_admin, display_method_admin, and set_change_theme_button_name handlers update settings without checking WordPress capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the documented consequence is limited to unauthorized plugin-configuration changes.
