Application crash via untrusted frame-count allocation
Published Jan 20, 2026 · Updated Jan 20, 2026
Integer overflow in mackron dr_flac 0 through 0.13.2 allows attackers to crash consuming applications with a crafted FLAC file. The full-file decode helper trusts the totalPCMFrameCount metadata value and uses it to size one allocation before decoding, so a tiny file can request excessive memory. Exploitation requires an application to process attacker-controlled FLAC input and is limited to a crash or abnormal behavior from memory exhaustion.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
